About seven years ago, I started to get hives. The doctors said it was nerves. I was able to control them with Benadryl until about five years ago. Once the Benadryl stopped working, my primary physician and allergist prescribed combinations of several antihistamines that I took for about eight months. With your help, I have begun to resolve a 10-year chronic disorder which mimicked other illnesses. In an effort to find a diagnosis, doctors had tested for everything from mononucleosis to possible Hodgkin’s disease. Endless treatment with antibiotics and penicillin created immunities, allergies and stomach irritation, leaving me even more frustrated and ill. Then, a dedicated ENT Specialist diagnosed part of the problem as chronic pharyngitis. He told me that infrequent cauterizing of my throat would give temporary relief, but the pharyngitis would continue until the source of the infection was found.
Since beginning the Alliance Institute’s acupuncture treatments, I have experienced consistent relief. Within the first week after treatment, my low-grade fever had abated. By the third session, the swelling and pain in my lymph glands had diminished and stomach pain was relieved. By treatment six, I was experiencing no glandular pain, and only mild aching in my ears. Though I may need to continue acupuncture treatments periodically, I do so with confidence, knowing that I now have found a less invasive, non-allergic and more sustained response to treatment for a suppressed immune system and chronic pharyngitis.
