Does the Alliance Institute for Integrative Medicine (AIIM) accept insurance?

Accepting insurance means that a provider directly bills the insurance company on behalf of the patient.  In order to do that, the provider must enter into a contract with the insurance company.  For a variety of reasons, AIIM providers have chosen to not contract with insurance companies.

Can I get reimbursed for services?

Some of AIIM’s services are reimbursable by third party payers and/or insurance companies.  Our practitioners are considered out-of-network providers.  If you want to know if your insurance company will cover AIIM’s services (and to what extent), call the number on your insurance card and ask what your out-of-network benefits are.  We strongly encourage you to contact your insurance company to learn about your plan, co-pays, and whether or not you have met any deductibles.

How can I get reimbursed from my insurance company for covered services?

When you come in for your appointment, the front desk staff will provide you with a copy of your encounter form after you have paid for services.  Let them know you are going to file for reimbursement with your insurance company so that they can ensure all the required diagnoses codes are designated.

What about Health Savings Accounts (HSA) & Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)?

Generally the services provided by AIIM practitioners are payable from your HSA or FSA accounts.  To be certain, however, please check with the plan administrator at your place of employment.

FSA will usually cover the costs of prescribed supplements.

What about Medicare and Medicaid?

Our providers accept Medicare payment for those services covered by Medicare.  Any co-payments or deductibles must be paid by the patient.  Payment for those services not covered by Medicare is required at the time of service.  We accept check, cash, Visa, American Express or Master Card.

We do not accept or contract with Medicaid.  Please bring your Medicare card with you on the day of your appointment.

What methods of payment are accepted?

Payment in full is required at the time of your appointment (unless you are covered by Medicare and service is for a Medicare covered service).  We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, Master Card, and American Express.

Isn’t paying out-of-pocket too expensive?

When you are used to a sporadic $20-$30 co-pay, paying directly for services can be an adjustment.  We encourage all patients to investigate, in advance, what their deductible and reimbursement rates are.  Our patients tell us the cost is worth the value of care they receive at AIIM.
