Dr. Katie Peeden is excited to be joining the Alliance physician team as part of their Integrative Medicine Physician of Excellence Program (IMPOE). She graduated from University of Cincinnati Medical School in 2001 and completed her residency at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr Peeden is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has been practicing in a traditional family medical practice for the past 12 years. During that time, she also worked at a Medical Weight Loss Program and acted as a Regional Medical Director.
Dr Peeden is looking forward to broadening her approach to treating patients with complex medical conditions as well as ways to help promote health and well-being. As part of the IMPOE program, she will become certified in acupuncture and functional medicine. “I feel my traditional medical training has provided a great outline but has not quite painted the whole picture of how to help patients restore balance and promote health in their lives. There is so much focus on disease treatment that we overlook the individual and the preventative and restorative properties of their own physiology that will bring wellness.”
