Richard Sears, Psy.D., MBA, ABPP, is a board-certified clinical psychologist licensed in Ohio. Dr. Sears has been practicing and teaching mindfulness and other forms of meditation for over 25 years. He is Director of the Center for Clinical Mindfulness and Meditation and core faculty in the Doctor of Psychology Program at Union Institute and University. He is lead author of Mindfulness in Clinical Practice, and is currently under contract for three more books on mindfulness.
Dr. Sears regularly offers an eight-week training program in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) at Alliance Integrative Medicine. Hundreds of scientific studies have demonstrated that mindfulness training groups help reduce stress, anxiety, chronic pain, depression, and a number of other problems by teaching you to work wisely with your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. Psychologists and other health professionals are also welcome to attend for their own self-care, and are eligible to receive 13.5 APA CE credits.
