Richard Sears, Psy.D., MBA, ABPP, is a board-certified clinical psychologist licensed in Ohio. Dr. Sears has been practicing and teaching mindfulness and other forms of meditation for over 30 years. He has a private practice, is Director of the Center for Clinical Mindfulness & Meditation, and holds several faculty appointments at the University of Cincinnati. He is the author of a dozen books, including Mindfulness: Living through Challenges and Enriching Your Life in This Moment.
Dr. Sears regularly offers an eight-week training program in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) at Alliance Integrative Medicine. Hundreds of scientific studies have demonstrated that mindfulness training groups help reduce stress, anxiety, chronic pain, depression, and a number of other problems by teaching you to work wisely with your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. Psychologists and other health professionals are also welcome to attend for their own self-care.
