Chiropractic Rehabilitation

Chiropractors (DCs), or chiropractic physicians, are highly trained, licensed professionals who have graduated from accredited chiropractic colleges. Diplomates of the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board (DACRB) specialize in chiropractic rehabilitation. Chiropractic rehabilitation focuses on evidence-based rehabilitation techniques to help patients achieve their highest level of health and mobility.

How does Chiropractic Rehabilitation Work?

At your first meeting, your chiropractor will ask you about your particular health concern and about your family history, diet, lifestyle, and other care you have received. A comprehensive physical examination, which can include a Physical Performance Evaluation, is performed followed by a discussion of your care plan with your chiropractor. Chiropractic Rehabilitation can include a variety of treatments including physical adjustments, therapeutic exercises, in-office therapies, stretches, and much more. Your provider will work with you to determine the most effective methods for your condition and goals.

Is Chiropractic Rehabilitation Right for Me?

If you’ve considered chiropractic care, physical therapy, or personal training, the answer is YES. Our rehabilitation program can help you get moving — freely and comfortably. Chiropractic Rehabilitation can serve many patients – from young athletes looking to optimize performance to those in their golden years aiming to be able to play with their grandkids pain-free. Chiropractic Rehabilitation is also an excellent option if you have completed physical therapy but aren’t quite ready for personal training.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Typically, follow-up appointments are 30-minute, weekly treatments scheduled over the course of 4-6 weeks followed by a re-evaluation to assess your progress.

The number of treatments you will need varies with your age, your general physical condition, and your health goals.

Does Chiropractic Rehabilitation Have Any Side Effects?

The most frequent side effect of a rehabilitation treatment is mild soreness, which should last only 24-48 hours (like a new workout routine). This soreness is similar to a feeling of overexertion. The treatment itself is usually painless; if there is any discomfort it is very brief.

Our team will work with you to ensure that your treatment is as safe and gentle as possible. If you are concerned in any way, please ask about gentle chiropractic techniques. Be sure your chiropractor is aware of any pertinent medical history to ensure your treatment is safe and appropriate for your physical condition.

Chiropractic Rehabilitation can include chiropractic adjustments. The most frequent side effect of a chiropractic adjustment is mild soreness, which usually lasts only a few hours. There is a very remote possibility – less than one in ten million chiropractic adjustments – of underlying blood vessel injury, nerve, or spinal cord damage.
